Phetchaburi-Hua

Under the German and British influence, the Thai Railways was partitioned into Northern Railway and Southern Railway Department in the year 1913. The separation of the two departments led to construction of Phetchaburi-Hua Hin-Wang Pho and Phatthalung-U Tapao sections of Southern Railway. The opening of Thung Song-Kantang and Hat Yai-Songkhla branch lines also took place along with Khao Chumthong-Nakhon Si Thammarat branch lines.

Due to recurrent floods at U Tapao, the Junction of Southern Railway and Songkhla line was moved to Hat Yai. This incident took place between 1914 and 1918. In the First of April 1916, in the Northern Line section, Phitsanulok-Lampang branch line was contructed.
