Khun Tan Tunnel

From the year 1907 until the year 1918, the building of the Khun Tan Tunnel took place. The year 1908 saw the gasoline driven tram within the Chao Phrava River bend. The Bangkok Tramways Company Limited became a major shareholder of Siamese Tramways Company Limited.

In the next year Ban Laem to Maelong Railway and Makkasan-Khlong Toey Line also known as Port Railway or Maenam Railway was started. The year 1910 saw the opening of the railway depot and maintenance center, named Makkasan Railway Plant. This event was followed by the opening of a short tramline from the mouth of Khlong Samsen to Wachira Hospital.
