Bridge on the River Kwai

In this context, the legendary wartime movie, Bridge on the River Kwai, deserves special mention. In this movie, the construction of the infamous bridge on the river named Kwai as well as the railway line has been portrayed.

The wooden bridge was tuned into a steel bridge. Although the same bridge was destroyed by the Allied forces in later part of the War. The POWs were free at last when the war ended. All they took back home were horrors of the war and nightmares.

The World War II had managed to do its havoc over the previous railway tracks. However, the bridge on the River Kwai was reopened after restoration in 1945.
